Michael Robinson, Ed.D.: What should the role of parent(s) be regarding student behavior
Ericka W. Ways, Ph.D.: Parents, teachers, administrators, and students all share in the responsibility for creating a supportive educational environment for the student, especially as it pertains to behavior. As an educator, I found that daily student progress reports were very helpful when addressing concerns with students. It fostered an open dialog between parents, teachers (administrators in some cases) and students about the students overall (behavioral, academic, etc.) educational performance. However, this strategy is most effective with equal participation from all parties involved.
