Have you figured out yet what I am doing here? No! Me neither! I have no idea what I'm doing here. And it's obvious! I'm just not an experienced cook or chef that has “been there” and “done all that” already. I am no-where near the expertise level where I can visualize a unique culinary creation. I am sure an experienced cook or chef could do something like this, and already have a road map in my mind on how to get there. But I can't! And neither can any of us because it takes years to get to that level of mastery where you can create your own special masterpiece rather than this big white flowery mess that I'm making right now.
You want to know what I think? I think someone should write down what to do, what stuff to mix, how much stuff to mix, and in what order to mix all that stuff. Oh... Wait a minute... Are you telling me that that already exists and it's called a recipe?
Cool! You mean baking can be as simple as carefully following a recipe that someone else has already done the work of creating it! Amazing! Wow, with a recipe I can bake a nice cake and some delicious cookies for me and my family!
Okay, folks, you know I'm joking around a little bit here. And you probably already also know that I knew recipes existed way before this teen leadership/success article. And you most likely also know that I've probably already have used a few of them in my life time. I mean, come on... Who doesn't know about the short cut to success through the recipes that these master cooks and chefs have already put down on paper? Everyone knows that these recipes make our lives easier, right? And everyone knows that there is no “ands,” “ifs,” or “buts” about it, we need to use recipes if we don't want a disaster appearing on our dinner table in the front room, and the preparation table in the back room.
Well, the point that I'm really trying to make here is that if these master cooks and chefs have already put their easy-to-follow success secrets down on paper, doesn't it make sense that other masters from other fields have also written down their recipes, even if they don't call them “recipes”?
Sure it does! If master cooks and chefs have done it, then master auto mechanics have probably scribbled out their recipes to success too, right? Do you think master sales people and master horse trainers have also written down their secrets of success too? I bet you they have! What about master teachers and master ball players? Yup! And yup!
As a matter of fact, I'm willing to bet that if you look hard enough, that no matter what your dreams are, you can find some master that has shared his or her secrets of success in an easy to follow step-by-step formula. It's a little bit like the famous Buddhist Proverb. When the student is ready, the recipe (teacher) will appear.
Now friends and educators, follow this recipe: Go learn, lead, and lay the way to a better world for all of us. Remember, the secrets of the masters that may have taken them a lifetime to learn can be duplicated by you just like a cake from an easy-to-follow recipe, and hopefully without all the mess.
