Charles Thomas
Charles Thomas Jr. was born and raised in Flint, MI. He attended the University of Notre Dame, was a member of the Men’s basketball team, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. Upon graduation, Charles was awarded the NAACP Senior of the Year, Knute-Rockne Scholar Athlete of the Year, and Arthur-Ashe Scholar Athlete of the Year awards. Charles continued his educational pursuits and earned his MBA from the University of Texas-San Antonio, and Master of Science in Organizational Negotiations and Alternative Dispute Resolution from Creighton University. He graduated with highest honors from both universities (Summa Cum Laude) and is a member of two separate scholastic national honor societies. Charles has a host of advanced executive level certificates and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Organizational Behavior and Leadership Studies from Creighton University.
Charles sits on the Board of Director’s for Leadership Fairfax - a nonprofit organization whose goal is to build a base of understanding about our community, educate and inform, and to ultimately engage individuals to become agents of positive change in Fairfax County and the Northern Virginia region. Charles was selected as an emerging leader in Northern Virginia and graduated from Leadership Fairfax’s Emerging Leaders Institute - a group of approximately 40 individuals under the age of 40 who have shown excellence and dedication to their chosen profession. He is committed to community service and has volunteered for an assortment of organizations ranging from Big Brothers/Big Sisters to Meals-On Wheels. Upon his return to the US from Afghanistan, Charles volunteered to become a Wish Granter for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and works with families to make the wishes of their terminally ill child come true. In addition to his volunteer efforts, Charles has the honor to speak to youth regarding a variety of topics in an effort to inspire and motivate them to strive for excellence. Charles is a signed author with Tate Publishing and his first book - Scars, Exile, & Vindication: My Life As An Experiment – was released in August 2012.
Charles has successfully navigated disparate industries ranging from intelligence analysis (domestically and internationally) to sports marketing on a collegiate campus to casino marketing in Las Vegas. Charles currently works as an Intelligence Consultant in the Washington Metropolitan Area with the ultimate objective of providing government clients practical solutions to complex problems.
Charles’ philosophy on life is simple – when you learn, teach and when you get, give. He is a strong advocate of education and understands that education is necessary to effectively break barriers and enhance understanding.
