Dr. Lucian Yates III is the Dean of The School of Graduate Studies and Research and Professor of Teaching and Learning at Tennessee State University.  His research interests explore the intersection of race, gender, socio-economic status, and sexual orientation of students who are not preforming academically in the P-20 school environment, especially males and other underperforming groups, with the focus on non-cognitive factors that can explain and assist them into the mainstream of the educational culture.  
Dr. Jemimah Mimi Young

 Dr. Jemimah Young is an assistant professor at the University of North Texas. Her areas of expertise are Multicultural Education, Urban Education, and the Sociology of Education. Her specific research interests include (1) the academic achievement of students of color, (2) intersectional research of Black girls, (3) educational outcomes for marginalize populations, as well as (4) culturally responsive pedagogy. She teaches classes at both the undergraduate and graduate level related to culture, identity, diversity, social justice, foundations in education, and qualitative methodology. 
LaMarcus Hall

LaMarcus is a PhD student at Purdue University in the Curriculum and Instruction program. Hall is the Assistant Director of Student Life and Development at Ivy Tech Community College. .He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Education from Georgia Southern University. His research focuses on perceptions of men of color faculty in the academe at Predominately White Institutions (PWIs). LaMarcus is a 2-time recipient of the Holmes Scholarship.

The conference will be hosted at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, July 13th – 15th. All sessions will be in the Wyatt Rotunda and rooms on the 3rd floor.
