Dr. Mike Robinson, host of 3 Questions interviewed Aaron J. Peña about becoming an effective school leader.
Bio: Aaron J. Peña has been an educator for 19 years, 13 of which have been in administration at the elementary and secondary levels. He is currently serving his tenth year as a campus principal. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree in education from Baylor University and his master’s degree in education administration from the University of Houston Clear Lake. He is currently working on his doctoral degree at the University of Texas at Austin. Aaron has obtained many awards for his work in educational leadership including the Johnny Veselka Texas Association of School Administrators Award, the Exemplary Instructional Leadership Award from the Cooperative Superintendents Program at UT Austin, and is the 2015 HEB Excellence in Education Texas Principal of the Year. Aaron has a passion for working with all students but enjoys working in suburban environments that are going through the urbanization process. He believes all children deserve teachers and leaders who are passionate life-long learners and deeply desire to continually sharpen their skills as educators. It is through powerful, collaborative teams focused on continuous capacity development that schools will reach the lofty goal of high levels of learning for all students.
Aaron has a beautiful wife who is also an educator and three lovely daughters, 10, 11, and 13
