Transitioning From Middle School to High School
Dr. Mike Robinson, host of 3 Questions interviewed Felicia Meadows, CEO and Founder of Tomorrow’s Future Coaching and Consulting about the challenges facing students transitioning from 8th grade to 9th grade.
Ms. Felicia Meadows is a Professional School Counselor with Prince George’s County Public Schools. She has worked in the field of education for more than 15 years and has experience at each level from elementary to high school. In addition to being a counselor, Ms. Meadows is also a Life Coach. She uses her skills and experiences efficiently to empower students, parents and other individuals to create fulfilling educational and life experiences, which embodies her motto “Step Up Your Life”. Tomorrow’s Future Coaching and Consulting, which assists young people with finding their passion and purpose, is Ms. Meadows’ newest business endeavor.
Ms. Meadows earned her Master of Education Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Bowie State University and studied with the Institute for Life Coach Training to become a Life Coach. She is currently pursuing an Urban Education certificate from Johns Hopkins University to enhance her skills working with diverse populations. During the 2012-2013 school year, Ms. Meadows was a member of Congresswoman Donna Edwards’s Education Committee and served as moderator for the Congresswoman’s 2012 Annual College Fair. Her plan is to continue working with the Education Committee for the 2013-2014 school year. Ms. Meadows also served as a panelist at the Middle School forum in 2012 at Highland Park Baptist Church for their College and Career Symposium. In 2011, she did a workshop entitled “Bullying 2011: The Mean Girls Phenomenon” at the Swing Phi Swing Annual Girls’ Conference.
