This book will take you through short scenarios and the therapeutic creative outlet of poetry that I found to be the key to assist in push forward through a few setbacks. The push forward wasn’t easy and would bring many tears, but I was committed to growth every day. Self-Growth is an intentional choice we have. We can either choose to grow in life or choose to wither in the setback and become stagnant. Making a conscious choice to look at setbacks as lessons was one of the critical components in trusting the process. The other was strengthening my faith in Jesus Christ. I began to understand the assignment for my life and life’s experiences were not about me but for me to be the assignment to save someone else. I could no longer allow self-doubt, fear, and shame to steal my joy and hope in becoming.

I had to go through a lot of ups and downs in life that taught me life changing lessons. I began looking at life differently. I adopted the song, “I don’t believe he bought me this far to leave me.” You see even after dropping out of Bowie State University ending my sophomore year, I knew there was a plan for my life. I wasn’t sure how I’d get there at that time but something innately within me said, keep pushing and don’t ever give up on you and your dreams. I realized then there was a passion for self-growth and a drive to discover who Sherri was meant to be.

In the book I’ll share some of the 3 simple C’s that were key factors to changing my stagnant mediocre thinking. These simple C’s will help you look at your current mindset and begin to move towards getting unstuck and out of your own way. These simple C’s can be applied to defining your purpose, establishing healthy relationships, focusing on spiritual growth, and adopting resiliency which I call the bounce back factor. You got this!
