Dr. Mike Robinson, host of Parent Talk Live and his guest Tonya Wingfield discuss the termination of Prince George’s County Public Schools 6.5 million dollar federally funded Head Start program.
Tonya V. Wingfield founded Nehemiah's Vision, Inc. in 2005 after seeing a need for training and advocacy services that support the roles parents and community leaders play in a child's education. Ms. Wingfield is a respected IT professional and licensed Realtor in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
Her passion for education led her to be an active PTA members and a advocate for quality education. Ms. Wingfield assists parents by acting as a non-legal advocate in IEP and 504 meetings for students that require special accommodations in order to access the school curriculum.
She previously worked closely with members of the Board of Education where she developed and conducted parent workshops centered around parental involvement as well as sitting on several committees to include School Accountability and Testing, Master Plan, Special Education and School Boundaries.
Tonya is the mother of three adult children; two of which graduated from Prince George’s County Schools and a grandmother of seven.
