Stacia Thompson has worked as a coordinator for the GEAR UP Program, an academic advisor for Student Support Services, a director of Upward Bound, Project Director of the Health Professions Opportunity Program and ACT for Healthcare. All of these programs allowed her to continue with her passion of creating educational opportunity programs for the community she lives in. In her current role she is the Program Director for the division of Business and Workforce Solutions at Gateway Technical College. While there she was also awarded an Inspiration Grant by College Foundation to help create a more inclusive learning environment at the college.  She is a past recipient of the NAACP Youth Award, UW Parkside Community Service Award, YWCA Women of Distinction Award, and the Black Softball Circuit Hall of Fame inductee. Currently she is the VP of the Hispanic Professionals Business Association and Secretary of the Community Women’s Club.
