Dr. Natasha Mitchell serves as an Associate Clinical Professor, School Counseling with the University of Maryland, College Park. Dr. Mitchell openly shared her views and perspectives regarding the School Resource Office (SRO) program .
Bio
Dr. Mitchell is an Associate Clinical Professor and Field Experience Director in the School Counseling Program in the Department of Counseling, Higher Education, and Special Education. She has worked as an administrator, professor, researcher, and practitioner in the school counseling profession. She is also a Board Certified Counselor. Highlights of her work include serving as the Student Services Executive Officer at PGCPS, a School Counselor at AACPS, and an Assistant Professor at Penn State University . She is a published author whose research has focused on examining acculturation processes and the psychosocial factors that influence minority student academic achievement. Dr. Mitchell has served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Counseling and Development and the National Membership Committee for the Association of Counselor Education and Supervision. In addition, she has been awarded and led Federal grant projects focused on expanding school counseling services and promoting college readiness among minority populations. Dr. Mitchell's service highlights include being a Gates Millennium Scholar Alumni, serving on The President's Council of Cornell Women, serving on the UMD University Senate and the UMD Professional Track Faculty Symposium Steering Committee.Aisha N. Braveyboy is the State's Attorney for Prince George's County, Maryland Ms. Braveboy openly shared her views and perspectives regarding the School Resource Office (SRO) program .
