​Welcome to Parents and PGCPS: Conversations for the Engaged Parent and Dedicated Educator. I am your host Dr. Michael Robinson. Over the past several days, I have embarked on a journey across our beautifully diverse communities to talk with parents/families, educators, community and civic leaders regarding their views and perspectives about the future of education in Prince George’s County.

One of those voices is that of Mr. David Murray.

​I have lived in Prince George’s County my entire life, attended the public schools and graduated from the Eleanor Roosevelt High School Science and Technology program in 2010. I matriculated to the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) as a Sondheim Scholar. I majored in Financial Economics, and graduated magna cum laude in 2014. I work as an analyst for an investment consulting firm in Washington D.C and prior to that I was a staff auditor for a public accounting firm. 

I’m a former member of the Maryland State Board of Education where I fought hard to ensure quality education for all students. I have experience serving as an educational liaison for Senator C. Anthony Muse and as a Congressional page for Steny Hoyer of the United States House of Representatives.

I spent the 2010-2011 school year as a classroom volunteer in two Baltimore City public schools. Additionally I am a former member of the Deerfield Run Elementary and Laurel High School PTA’s. In 2011-2012 I served as a member of the board of directors for Side by Side of Laurel, an educational non profit.

In 2014 I was initiated into the Rho Tau Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. I live in Bowie with my family and attend Ascension Catholic Church.
