THE YARD
Resiliency is the Common Ingredient in a Kentucky State University Student
DR. MICHAEL A. ROBINSON @DrMikeRobinson

The successes of Kentucky State University students come from their spirit of resiliency. An untapped resiliency that often draws them to Kentucky State University. It is there at Kentucky State University their resiliency will be protected and nourished. That resiliency has historically be forged by the support of a diverse and caring administration, demanding faculty, and supportive staff.
Our KSU resiliency tells the world that we are not just some HBCU on "The Hill", but that we are a community of scholars, high achievers, and heroes impacting the lives of a nation. From "The Hill", in a small town in the Commonwealth of Kentucky have come physicians and nurses on the front line in the battle against COVID, educators motivating current and future leaders in classrooms across America, and thousands of citizens contributing in every corner of the American fabric in meaningful ways.
Webster defines resiliency as the ability of something to return to its original size and shape after being compressed or deformed. In a lot of ways, that is a Kentucky State University student. We do not arrive from wealthy and influential families. In most cases, we come to Kentucky State University from an American tapestry that has often marginalized our presence, diminished our intellectual capabilities, and underestimated our future contributions.
We may have arrived at KSU compressed and deformed by various challenges. However, we have and will depart our "Beloved University" with a replenished spirit and a forged resiliency that has been molded in the image of our true greatness. Kentucky State University students are built to make the impossible possible and the ordinary extraordinary. The resiliency of a Kentucky State University student turns a million-dollar deficit into an incalculable return on investment! ONWARD AND UPWARD to 135 more years!
"We might be small, but we are mighty."
