On this episode of Living Education eFocus News, Dr. Mike Robinson interviewed Mr. Tyrone D. Dove, Sr. Mr. Dove, Sr. was arrested and charged with Child Abuse 2nd Degree and Assault 2nd Degree for using a belt to discipline two of his children.

I never imagined that I’d be behind bars for using a belt to discipline my two Boys, nine and 11, for being outside in a neighborhood that’s not mine or where they permanently reside with friends carrying a pocket knife. A text message that left my heart racing when I received it. As a young 29-year-old black father of 8 children. 5 boys and three girls, I’m scared for my kids’ future in this world We live in today. I was raised in the church and brought up with tough love that did not harm My childhood or my future today.
I’m 29, happily married, and I graduated from High school in 2010. I have my head on straight. I have loving parents, siblings, family, and friends standing with me through this moment. I did not realize I was breaking the law when using corporal punishment. I was only trying to break the curse of children shooting each other and shooting up schools and public places. Now that I know better, I must do better as a man, a husband, and a father. Please keep my family and me in prayer.
