Dr. Susan Bissett, PhD
Assistant Dean for Professional and Student Affairs & Assistant Professor University of Charleston School of Pharmacy Dr. Susan Bissett has more than20 years of higher education experience in academic and student affairs. She has taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels in the areas of communications, social science, and leadership. Past experiences include serving as a community college vice president where she oversaw student affairs and enrollment. Prior to her community college experience, Gardner served as assistant dean of students at the University of Charleston (UC). In November 2013, she returned to UC and its School of Pharmacy where she is as an assistant professor and assistant dean for professional and student affairs. She is a fierce advocate for prevention education in regard to the opioid epidemic. Bissett oversees a number of projects related to harm reduction and medication safety at the University and in her community. She earned her BA from Oakland University, MA from Central Michigan University, and PhD from Capella University. She has also published more than 100 articles related to enrollment and student success. Susan lives in Charleston, WV with her two daughters and beloved pups.

Dr. Sarah Embrey, PharmD
Assistant Professor University of Charleston School of Pharmacy Dr. Sarah Embrey is an assistant professor at the University of Charleston School of Pharmacy (WV). Sarah is a graduate of the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy, and she has been a practicing pharmacist since 2013. After graduation, she completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV where she focused on internal medicine and acute care medicine. At UCSOP, she teaches a wide variety of topics in the classroom as well as precepting third and fourth year pharmacy students at her practice site at Saint Francis Hospital in Charleston, WV. She also volunteers frequently at Kanawha-Charleston Health Department’s Harm Reduction Program. Additionally, she serves in an advisory role for two student organizations on campus. She lives in Charleston, WV with her husband and two cats.
