Welcome to Parents and PGCPS: Conversations for the Engaged Parent and Dedicated Educator. I am your host Dr. Michael Robinson. Over the past several days, I have embarked on a journey across our beautifully diverse communities to talk with parents/families, educators, community and civic leaders regarding their views and perspectives about the future of education in Prince George’s County.
One of those voices is that of Mrs. Catherine Nwosu

Catherine Nwosu, has deep roots in the Prince George's County community. She spent her K-12 years in PGCPS and graduated from High Point HS. Catherine currently lives in the Hyattsville/Langley Park community with her spouse and two children. Her oldest child attends 1st grade at Mother Mary Harris Jones Elementary where Catherine serves as secretary on their newly formed PTO. Professionally, Catherine works in Education and serves as Director of Extended Learning at DC Prep where she is responsible for managing, staffing and developing programming for Prep EX!, DC Prep’s aftercare program, across DC Prep's five campuses. Prior to this role, Catherine served as a preschool teacher at DC Prep. Catherine has also served as an AmeriCorps WNY Tutor Coordinator for Journey’s End Refugee services in Buffalo, NY- connecting volunteers to newly-arrived refugee families from places like Burma and Somalia, and assisting them with English, education, and resettlement. Catherine holds a BA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages.
