​Dr. Mike Robinson, host of Parent Talk Live and his guest Helen Ballard discuss the termination of Prince George’s County Public Schools 6.5 million dollar federally funded Head Start program.


Helen Ballard began working with students at the start of her educational career as a first grade classroom teacher in Prince George’s County Public Schools. She came with a wealth of knowledge, dedication and passion for education. She has been a remarkable asset to different non-profit organizations before retiring from PGCPS to start her own organization. Her tireless dedication, exemplary leadership and over 14 years as an educator, she is represented as a lifetime learner. She began her education path at Bowie State University where she obtained her Bachelors. She then proceeded to obtain two Masters Degrees in Curriculum and Instruction with Technology and Business Leadership. Helen is the CEO/Founder of Making the Grade A+, LLC an academic enrichment program that service all students K-12, SAT, ACT & GED preparation; as well as Raipey Inc. a non-profit that services ladies K-12 in STEM & STEAM.

            Helen continues to advocate for the youth in the DMV to increase academic performance by Building their confidence, inspiring them to be great while allowing them to Own It.
