5 Top Reasons An Online Education Is Worth It!
Jeff Wonser attended Ashford University, where he earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with an emphasis in Project Management. He also received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Organizational Management in 2012 from Ashford University. Jeff is a strong proponent of the value of online education. He provided 5 Tops Reasons An Online Education is Worth It!
1. Education is one of the few things in life that cannot be taken away from you. Once learned, knowledge is priceless.
2. Online education comes in many shapes and forms. Those colleges that have the same accreditation as your local college, are equally valued by employers. This is the truth that clouds the minds of some who feel entitled since they earned their degree. The truth is, if you gain a sense of entitlement after graduation, good luck finding a fit no matter where you graduated from.
3. Online education is designed for the working adult! If you sit at home and earn your degree, then once again, good luck finding a fit. No one will hire a person without experience!
4. Online education is as hard, if not harder (some of my math classes were insanely tough for my MBA) than traditional school. This is due to the devotion, and motivation needed to succeed, and the lack of interaction in the virtual environment, and/or limited teacher interaction. This translates to a "self-starter" which is a skill employers value.
5. Bottom-line; if you go to school to educate yourself, then I congratulate you for investing in yourself, and your future! If you took out outrageous student loans in hopes of a career while you sit at home learning, then you need to rethink your course of action. If you want a certain career or job, then do your research! There is nothing negating your educational achievement, and your online degree is not the reason for you not getting the job of your dreams. I am being honest! What I have noticed during my extensive leadership time in the "Armed Forces" is that some people are in need of a "reality-check" in life from time to time. Having a "chip on your shoulder" as to blaming the value of your education on the reason you are not getting a job, only points to a need for some serious "soul searching". Education is what you make of it! Never discount the value of educating yourself no matter which way is possible for you within your means! Hope this helps.
