Dr. Marvin Lynn serves as Dean and Professor in the College of Education at Portland State University, Oregon’s premier urban research university. He is recognized internationally for his scholarship on race, education, and the work and lives of Black male teachers in the United States. He has published dozens of research articles and book chapters on these topics with his most recent co-authored article appearing in the Journal of Teacher Education in 2018, the premier teacher education journal in the field.
Dr. Lynn is the lead editor on the Handbook of Critical Race Theory in Education published in 2013 on Routledge Press. The second edition of the Handbook will be issued in 2020. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi.
