Intensive College Access Now (ICAN) is a guide written by a high school counselor to help seniors, parents, and other counselors navigate the college application process. The guide has a Student, Parent and Counselor section to help simplify the steps to help every student gain college acceptance. Every student may not decide to pursue a post-secondary education, but every student should have a choice.

 Julie Brown works at Central High School Magnet Career Academy-High School. She has proven leadership and service in educational activities and proven advocacy for students. 


Julie Brown developed an innovative Intensive College Access Now (ICAN)
program to assure that all of the students at Central High School could further their career path with a college education. She implemented this program at Central High School four years ago and for four straight years each senior at Central has been admitted to a college.

Julie is tenacious, assertive, and optimistic. She is a great role model for her students. Her dedication to the students and parents at Central is commendable. She is always willing
to share her knowledge with others to improve the lives of our youth. She also lends her ear, her talents, and her assistance to other Counselors. Her motto is “never allow anyone else to define you!" She lives this motto and proves that it works. Her innovative style has helped countless others. Julie Brown is a great administrator.
