The Challenges of Raising a Child with Autism
EducatorI am an Educator whose area of concentration is in Special Education. I’ve taught in the development and instruction of the special needs population for over 20 years. I am currently employed in the capacity of a Special Education Teacher. In addition, I work as a consultant in Early Intervention and CPSE (Committee of Pre-school Education). My responsibilities include Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped, S.E.I.T (Special Education Itinerant Teacher), ABA Applied Behavior Analysis, and Education Evaluator.

I have also been featured in the Culvert Chronicles, and The New York Amsterdam Newspaper. My accomplishments also include a published dissertation entitled, “The Individualized Education Plan: Parent Perspectives on the Feasibility and Effectiveness of the Individualized Educational Plan.

ScholarMy undergraduate work was completed at Herbert Lehman College where I majored in African-American Studies with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1993. I went on to further my education by earning my first Masters in Special Education from Long Island University/Brooklyn Campus in 1998. I earned a second Masters degree in School Administration and Supervision from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts at North Adams, MA in 2002 and a third Masters from Argosy University in Educational Specialist/Educational Leadership in 2003. In 2007 I earned a Doctorate of Philosophy in Professional Studies in Education from Capella University.
