Dr. Michael Robinson, the host of The Yard, was joined by Dr. Alicia Howard. Alicia is a multi-generational graduate of The Kentucky State University. Alicia earned a Bachelor of Music in Bachelor of Music in Performance.  in 1993.  She is a proud member of  Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Dr. Alicia Howard, a native of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky and part of a long family legacy of Kentucky State University graduates, earned a BM in Piano Performance from KSU in 1993 with a focus on the behavioral sciences. Following graduation, Alicia was
awarded the University of Florida’s Brazilian Language and Cultural Fellowship to study in Rio de Janeiro. She also earned a master’s in music therapy from Florida State University and a PhD in Music Education and Music Medicine with a specialization in Temporomandibular Joint Disorder from the University of Toronto. Her doctoral research was the first collaboration between the Faculties of Music and Dentistry at UofT, and Mount Sinai Hospital’s Wasser Pain Management Centre in Toronto. Today, in her private Toronto-based practice, Music Wellbeing, Alicia integrates music therapy, psychotherapy, and hypnotherapy as tools in her work with chronic pain
patients.
