Twitter Should Not Have Banned Trump
Dr. Mike Robinson: Is the decision by Twitter to shutter President Trump's account a violation of the 1st Amendment?
Dr. Richard Wells: Yes, I believe Twitter and other sites should be limited on what they are allowed to do. Yes, Trump should not be banned because of his opinions.
Dr. Mike Robinson: Should social media platforms have the responsibility to monitor what is said, especially by our national leaders?
Dr. Richard Wells: Social media should keep an overview of what is allowed on their sites as there is so much that being responsible, we do not need to have fighting words as they call them on these sites. I have some references as to how they should be run but not stopping people from voicing their opinions—only the frame of which the opinion is broadcast.
