Kevin Sterling Walker is Project Appleseed's founder, president and national director. He oversees all of the current and future programs of the organization. As president and national director, he provides leadership in program development, organizational and financial planning while working with the volunteers, staff and board to carry out plans and policies. Hands-on work is frequently required at all levels of the president's job. Mr. Walker represents the organization's point of view to news organizations, government, agencies, organizations, and the general public.
Like President Barack Obama, Kevin Walker began working as a community organizer in the early 1980's. Mr. Walker is a leading advocate of public school parents in the United States. Mr. Walker is a national award winning organizer and public policy professional and has 30 years of local, state and national experience. He is the parent of four public school graduates and the founder of Project Appleseed.
