Right now, Spring 2020, the news is terrible. People do not know what to do. The statistics seem to get more ominous each day. During this time of uncertainty, more than ever, take care of yourself. Take care of yourself or you will not be able to write and finish this coveted degree. Stress is a killer for a doctoral candidate. Figure out a way to make it through the next few weeks. Do whatever you must to maintain some sort of normalcy for you and your family.
Yes, I know I am past 70. My dear friends keep calling to remind me. Yes, I know I am not completely over the regular old flu and pneumonia. Yes, I know these things, but I am going to do my best to just put one foot in front of the other, as I always do, as should you. Worry will certainly not help anyone. I plan to continue taking care of myself and my furry little menagerie as usual. Here is how I plan to do this (the same as always): I will continue to use soft music, green teas, crystals, salt lamps, chakras, incense, sage, lavender, essential oils, reflexology, Reiki, keep all my favorite things close, and use massage to keep my body and mind calm, stress free and relaxed so I can write and work. I will try to eat right and sleep enough as well, as should you.
I have listed a few methods I have found to relieve my stress and anxiety. Although I realize not everyone will want to embrace all of these, maybe you will find one just right for you. What is my favorite way to relax? My family, good friends, and my furry babies.
Please take care yourself. Stay strong. We will come through this.
