Alton Sterling...unarmed...murdered by a white cop outside of a convenience store in Baton Rouge, LA...lost his life three years ago yesterday (July 5, 2016). He was shot multiple times in the chest and in the back while selling CDs in front of that convenience store. Alton was just 37 years old. He left behind numerous children and a grieving wife. #july5
Philando Castile...unarmed...licensed weapon carrier in an open carry State who informed the officer that he had a weapon but never reached for it or presented any danger to the cop...was murdered by a cop in front of his fiancee and her 4-year-old daughter. He was 32 years old. #july6
The incidents happened less than 24 hours apart... Both cops were acquitted of all charges for these unjustified but highly televised murders. Americans were devastated once they heard of the murders and a knife was stuck in that wound once the officers were acquitted even after the videos, which clearly did not show clear and present danger had seen by millions.
Please do not forget there have been many more hashtags since these two. In fact, homicides by cops are at an all-time high in America. Please pray for our country and continue to pray for the families of the young men and women who have been executed by cops and pray for those who are only one traffic stop or one flashing blue light away from becoming the next hashtag. #altonsterling #batonrouge #philandocastile #falconheights #minnesota#systemicfailure #historic #oppression #nojustice #nopeace #knowjustice#knowpeace #executionbypolice #july5 #july6 #lestweforget
