Zulieka Baysomore: I did an investigation and interview of children last year on the second day of school as students went through the same ordeal last year. Baltimore leaders are mishandling of funds. That's why there needs to be a change in leadership. Those leaders were given $30 million in the school budget to get this done in 2017 by Governor Hogan. After I mentioned the above money in my ZeBay Behind the Scenes Episode 370, Governor Hogan asked what happened to the money and shortly after that he replaced the then President of the Board of Education. But still where did the $30 million get diverted to? No accountability. I’ve done over 512 episodes on Facebook, YouTube, and Tweeter over the past year in a half spotlighting Baltimore’s talented people and interviewing public officials. I did a 4-part series on Baltimore's Homeless Epidemic.
Dr. Michael Robinson: Can you go into more details related to your focus on the homeless epidemic?
Zulieka Baysmore: I gave a copy of my Outline to End Homelessness to one of former Mayor Catherine Pugh's aide. I tried on five occasions to meet with Mayor Pugh to secure the Baltimore convention center to hold and promote my two-day working summit on “Ending Homelessness in Baltimore City". Instead of meeting with me and letting me use the Convention Center for this unique summit, Mayor Pugh took my outline, invited one of the officials listed on the outline agenda to meet with the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Dr. Ben Carson without me. He loved it and the City was given 30 million extra dollars in the FY18 Department of Housing budget resulting in a total of 51 million dollars earmarked for Housing in FY 18. However, because the City did not have my entire plan, they spent only 4.8 million of the money. Then in October, she gave $30 million dollars to a non-profit. We are still trying to follow the money.
